Talk...
I have met a lot of people over the last 29 years of my life – many of whom I am still in touch with, and many where our paths no longer cross. I am who I am because of these encounters and I wanted somewhere that I would be able to draw attention to certain people in and throughout my life that have inspired or encouraged me in some way.

I may just share a photo with a sentence, or I may share a full essay-length story of certain things. The post may end up being a way of encouraging a small-business owner, or it may wish someone a happy birthday – I don’t want there to be any real restrictions or rules on this area of my site.
I believe God has has given me a passion for people, travel and food for a reason. This site is a way for me to share honestly and openly and I hope that reading my recipes, reading about my travels and hearing encouraging words about others will lift you.
Travel...
Travel allows for glimpses into other worlds, it lets you experience something different to usual and is usually educational. I don’t think I’ve taken a single trip anywhere and not learnt something new along the way.
“A good traveller has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.”

I’ve been to Japan over 25 times and I can honestly say that every time I go, I return knowing something I didn’t before! I love to learn and I truly get excited to my core every time I travel or go on an adventure.
I use Skyscanner constantly to look at prices of flights,🛩 I want to try and visit as many countries as possible in my lifetime. If you can help with that…let me know!
I set out in 2018 to take a trip every month and so far things have got off to a decent start:
January – Suffolk Cottage
February – Dubai, UAE – Hiroshima, Japan
March – Osaka, Japan – Mumbai, India
April – Cologne, Germany
May – Barcelona, Spain
June – Basel, Switzerland – Blotzheim, France
– Weil am Rhein, Germany
July – Hillsong London
August – Boat trip, Norfolk Broads + London
September – Does a Spa Trip count?
October – Bristol 🏴
November – TBC
December – TBC
As it currently stands – I have nothing set in stone for the winter and some of the trips are not as abroad as I’d hoped but I intend to…
If you have any ideas for trips or would like any information from my trips – just let me know. I love travelling on my own but more recently I have realised travelling with others allows you to try things that you might not have looked into, had you not had the other person with you.
I’m thinking about trying to plan a trip to Japan 2020 and maybe get a group of people together to be in Tokyo and do some exploring, alongside The Olympics…
Food...
We see food everywhere and most of the time it’s made to look beautiful right? – I’ve always believed that well-presented food tastes better. I have been known to spend an hour or so to cook myself dinner and spend another 10 minutes plating it up to look ‘instagrammable’. If you’ve been round mine to eat, you’ll know how true this is…
Food is the ingredient that binds us together, creating a way for us to share our culture and passions while fuelling our bodies. Coming together and sharing a meal is one of the most communal and binding things to do, wherever you are in the world.
If you think back to the first question people typically ask you when you get back from a holiday or trip away is “how was the food?” Food will tell you so much about a culture and is easy for people to visualize.
I love experiencing new foods, tasting great flavours but also capturing it on film. Looking back at meals from the past allows my mind to revisit those moments and think back to the events of that day.
“Using artistic inspiration in the design of the culinary experience, even when used implicitly, can indeed enhance the enjoyment of food.”
When taking photos of your meals, surely there needs to be a healthy balance. You can’t go out with a group of friends and come home with pictures of your meal and not of the people. What good is it to look back on an album of food photos if the people you shared that meal are not documented alongside.
However, if I see that your Tuna nicoise looks amazing – I’m taking a photo
I think that the main reason that I decided to share my food online with the world is because I want to see more food bringing people together. I truly enjoy cooking for others, and spending time with people around good food.
A goal of mine is to get to a stage where I am cooking meals for people in their homes after they order or suggest certain meals. … and they pay me…💷
If anything, these social media platforms give me a place to create something and document it, even if it’s just for my own ‘journalling’.
